Just curious of what happens if the sd card in the sds100 becomes unusable? What is the process of setting up a new SD card so everything will work in the sds100?

If the card becomes corrupt, you can try reformatting it in a PC or "clear all user data" via Sentenel. Or simply buy a new card and again use Sentinel to clear all user data.

Hopefully you have your profile and favorites saved in Sentenel or other programming software.

Then write it back to the new or reformatted card.

A couple of notes:

#1: Do NOT format an SD card using your Windows file manager, etc. Formatting needs to be done via the recommended software SD Memory Card Formatter | SD Association

#2: Once that is done, you need to load the operating files for the radio. Done by the clear user data previously mentioned.
Make sure your target model is set correctly (tools / target model)
Then Scanner / clear user data.

Several issues over the years with various cards in the big brother SDS200. Apparently, the SDS series is very sensitive to card issues, and on several occasions I was almost convinced I would have to send the radio back for repair. But it has always turned out to be an SD card issue.

Patience and perseverance.

Just an FYI...While there is no problem using the SD memory card formatter, Windows (at least Windows 7 on up) works fine also using FAT32 (OR FAT32ext) formatting for use in Uniden scanners. Or at least, that is my experience.
