SDR Console weirdness when zooming and centering

So, if I click on a signal (I'm listening to AM right now), it sounds great. However, if I click the button to center it, it does, but the voices become all distorted. Same thing if I have auto center on when zooming. Sounds good, but as soon as I zoom and it centers, the audio sounds awful. Some sort of bug??

OK, so even weirder....I went into SDR++ immediately after this happened, and it's doing the same thing. I'm tuned to AM 1220, and if I exactly on the freq, I hear duck voices. If I tune off to either side, or switch to SSB, voices become clear. What the heck?

Ugh! Here's a video of what happens. It appears the frequency gets knocked out of whack somehow i.e. it says 1220, but I'm really on 1219 or 1221. This blows. I was just beginning to like this program.

So then it can't be the software, it has to be the RSP1a?

So, I heard back from tech support, and also found a few articles online. The problem is the DC spike in Zero IF mode. I guess I either need to tune in Low IF mode, or offset the freq slightly to avoid this.
