Is there a software package for SDR's that combines tuning and digital decode into a single package? I have an SDRPlay RSP and would like to use a single package to handle DMR, d-Star etc. instead of one application for tuning and another for decode.

I can use Mac or Windows.

TIA!

There's nothing currently available to do such things, unfortunately. Someday I hope - and I know many others do as well - that we as a hobbyist communist will eventually discover someone out there with the necessary programming skills and talent to create just such a tool: an all-in-one application that simply interfaces with an SDR device and then provides all the various functionality that many of us want without having to run multiple side-applications and multiple programs in general to get one (or many) tasks done.

For the most commonly used digital formats (P25 Phase I, DMR/TRBO, NXDN, ProVoice, etc) it's a one-two solution where the tuning software could be any currently available SDR application (along with Unitrunker if there's trunking involved more than likely) and then the decoding (at this point) would be done with DSD or more commonly DSD+ at this point in time. DSD+ also offers the ability to control SDR hardware using FMP which is a fairly simplistic tuning module (if that's not an accurate name for it I apologize as I still don't use FMP myself) to get the job(s) done to some degrees.

But in general until such an AIO application makes itself known then we're stuck using what we've got or whatever's coming down the pike in the near future.

I think the newer DSD+ may have a tuning option, but I'm not sure it works for SDRPlay.

I'm still trying to get the tuning to work on the latest public release. I've found zero documentation on the format of the Frequency data files.

I think the format is still the same as here - http://forums.radioreference.com/vo...software/301636-dsdplus-frequencies-file.html

DSDPlus.frequencies

DSD+ uses this file to display frequency information when DSD+ is monitoring
a rest channel or control channel. The frequency records will also be
used to control channel steering for trunked voice following.

Note:

DSD+ uses two channel numbers for each DMR RF channel:

Channel #1 = first RF channel, timeslot 1
Channel #2 = first RF channel, timeslot 2
Channel #3 = second RF channel, timeslot 1
Channel #4 = second RF channel, timeslot 2
Channel #5 = third RF channel, timeslot 1
Channel #6 = third RF channel, timeslot 2
...

For all DMR systems (DMR, Cap+, Con+, TIII), only one channel record has
to be added to the DSDPlus.frequencies file for each RF channel.
You can use the channel number that corresponds to timeslot 1 or 2 and
DSD+ will use the same frequency information for the other timeslot.

Thanks. I will try that. I was surprised no example file was provided like it is with the standard frequencies file.
