Howdy,

I'm a newbie to SDR, and I'm trying monitor Montgomery TX's P25 system using SDR trunk and two RTL-SDR's. I am getting nothing. No events, no messages, nothing. Seems like I'm getting a signal on both dongles, and the freqs programmed in come directly from radio reference. Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

FWIW, I am using SDR Trunk version 5.0 - beta 2 and the most up to date JMBE library.

Screen shots of spectrum attached.

Thanks in advance gents

Cant tell from your pics but do you have all of the freqs programmed in? The one pic shows Active. That should say Control

Looks like everything is good from what I can notice.

If you didn't import the system, I suggest doing that since you're premium you'll be able to do that.

Also, after the system is running, you need to actually click on that system in the "now playing" tab like in this photo. https://prnt.sc/tsMxw7Nucfz7

you have it muted

Its not muted. First, there is no indication of the mute button being set to on in his pics, and second, the freq being shown says active. He should, (not sure yet why it is not ) be locked on the control channel and it should say Control.

I have the same problem with p25-1 conventional it shows they are talking but no audio (sometimes other times it works fine or I get half the call) I have checked it using sdr# with simple apco plugin not sure what the cause is. Also have you tried the google group ?

Speaker icon is red with a M next to mono it should be green

The OP, who is the one having issues posted 3 pics in the first post. None of them show mute being enabled. The only pic I see with mute enabled is my pic, not the op who is the one having issues

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to follow up to say that I did get it working. I had all the control freqs entered, but not the ALT freqs. Turns out I needed them and they were not automatically imported by radio reference. Too bad Montgomery County encrypts anything worth listening to. I get Medical and Fire dispatches, but they just call out the unit numbers with no details. With police, I don't even get that. SDR is pretty cool though and I'm going to try some other things with it. Gotta brush up on my antenna theory tho.

Thanks a bunch to everybody who responded!
