Everyone's RF environment is different so there's no "one size fits all" answer. Experiment with different filters to see if any improvement is realized. Consider also IFX: Press Func then 7(IFX). Move to a different location away from sources of electricity, any difference? If the "static" is sporadic there may be a digital voice station (DMR, NXDN, etc; common for UHF) operating on or in close proximity to the station you intend on listening to & if this is the case there may not be anything you can do depending on how strong the signal is

If you haven't purchased the DMR option then that kind of data signalling might be heard as static interference. NXDN sounds a lot softer, at least the 4800 systems I've heard.
