I agree, I mainly got one for its ability to handle simulcast trunking which dominates my area. And it does an amazing job.

My Whistler TRX-2 had a really difficult time with simulcast, hearing 3 words then having the signal drop out was….let’s just say frustrating :giggle:

Sadly many people do not want to put in even minimal effort. Then complain when something does not live up to their expectations. The RR data base was a huge step forward in simplifying programming a scanner. Many though miss the critical step of customizing their favorites to cover their specific interest.

Oh, not me I have favorite lists. My feed is on a SDS 200. I was referring to new users who post about being absolutely overwhelmed.

Both spot on. Took me a bit of reading here, but I get it now and routinely change stuff to my liking. Heck, I just added CSX rail in Tampa which is around 50-60 miles north and get them great.

It is a great scanner for today’s digital world. Some like to build favorites, some like to scan by zip code. Your choice. Enjoy. your starting an addiction into radios. One is never enough.

here is the thing..... i watched alot of youtube vids from a guy in england.... i knew a lot before i got it.... people should do that before they say its too hard!!
Same here ! When I actually decided it was time for a SDS200, I must have watched 25 vids before it showed up, already had sentinel installed and probably a week worth of sleep loss, after it got here lol!

Perhaps the profile in the sentinel was not changed to SDS100 when uploaded to the scanner . Connect to Sentinel and set the target to SDS100 followed by writing to the scanner.

Just changing the "Target Model" to SDS100 in the "Tools" menu in Sentinel won't change the opening text message... It can be changed in the profile editor under the "Display Options" tab and then written to the scanner.
