SDS100/SDS200: SDS200 voltage display

Hello:
After doing a search, I saw one post that said the SDS200 voltage display is "useless". Can someone please confirm this is just a firmware placeholder? Is there any way to enable this? Since this is a 12V powered box, I would think that this would be a useful bit of information to know, especially for those who want to run this off a battery. Thanks.

Ok, so it's not just a nonfunctional placeholder? I see references in your link but they say "SDS100 only". I need to look through this in detail when I get home because it looks like it might answer a lot of my questions besides this.

I just entered the battery voltage field on my SDS200. It does not show a voltage. On the SDS100, the battery voltage will be displayed by pressing the volume knob. Personally, I don't see a need to clutter the screen with it.

Ok. Somewhat of a bummer that you can see the field, but it's nonfunctional. Even though it's a 12V powered unit. I was wanting to run some tests off my big deep cycle battery and didn't want to keep my DMM out all the time to check the battery voltage, but I guess I have to.

You do have a fixed position for battery on the display....
Mine shows that it has power running from it's barrel connector (The AC wall adapter). Even though I'm running a 12V UPS on that barrel connector ...
Couldn't tell you if it will display the voltage if using the automotive harness... Never tried it...

Get one of those 12vdc voltage displays off ebay. They come with either 2 wire or 3 wire. 2 wire connects to supply line. 3 wire connect to proper voltage and 3rd wire is where the reading comes from. Last time I bought a couple they were less than 5 bucks. Had 2 in the RV, one for each battery. Both my part time vehicles have one plugged into the cig lighter socket. Works great. Full time reading, draw is so low it would take a year to make a dent.

My post #6 with the scanner pict is from ProScan with the Display Menu opened...
You will not see that under normal operation from the AC adapter...

I'm sure sombody can chime in hear who is using the 12v automotive cable if the voltage diplays there or not...
