I was able to get everything working using Freescan by setting up the custom band plan.

Thanks for everyone info!

I have the RS Pro 107 Iscan software that updates from Radio Reference. When the rebanding takes place will I receive them from RR as updates?

Not sure but all I had to do was update the control channel frequency on my PSR-800 and it did the rest. No custom band plan required.

868MHz freqs. are not re-banded. Rebanding requires changing all 866 to 868 freqs. to the 851 to 853 range.

When I stated "Rebanded..." it was a statement, not a question. Hence there was no question mark.
The frequencies were changed on the Seattle Simulcast subsite of the King County Regional Radio System.

Is the above statement accurate?

Are the new frequencies in Radio Reference valid. What about the talk groups? I am unable to enter the TG ID's in my BCT8 Prog ID window. When I enter one (e.g. 3314 or any other) I get "Error". The radio has been rebanded and parameters set. Any help?

Thanks, John

I entered the control channels and set band plan. Sounds a whole lot clearly now than before they got rebanded. I hear fire dispatch loud and clear with no interruption!

Rebanding itself has no bearing on how clear it sounds. You probably just fixed an existing issue with having the wrong control channel in your programming.

Program in the following in all your radios tracking the Seattle system.

851.4125 851.8125 853.175 851.1625

You don't want to program multiple (active) control channels into one site. They should each be in their own site or you'll likely degrade scanner performance.

e.g.

KCPS
853.175 = Site 001
853.8125 = Site 006

Oh snap! It does? So primary control channel gets 1 site and alternate control channel gets another???

Negative. Stavro is mixing Site 1 CC and Site 6 CC in the same site. That's a no-no. KCPS is a system of sites. Each CC (and alts) need to be in its own site.

PS. You don't necessarily need all of the sites. For the Eastside, you only need EPSCA (Site 003.) For SPD and city of Seattle, then you just need Site 001. KC/Valleycom is only needed for KCSO or KC Fire. It just depends on what you want to listen to...

for me and what I listen to I have Site 1 - both control channels, and JUST Seattle Police (SPD). nothing else. There is so much that goes on in SPD, thats really All im interested in. I also have UW channels programmed, and at times, i L/O based on if i need them or not, if i had a cable or dsl internet, I would love to share just SPD as feed, but i tether so, not a constant data streem
