I have been looking for some cable hold downs like I use for 'normal' sized coax (you know the ones...plastic hook with a nail) to secure some LMR400 but have not had any luck in my search. Do any of you know where I can find something decent looking to secure the big diameter coax?

All I could find at Lowes/OSH/HD that was large enough in dia were metal staples for wiring and such. Nobody seems to have any decent looking plastic clamps in the 0.405 dia...at least that I can find. This runs down the corner of the wall in my office so looks are semi-important.

Radioshack used to have nail-in coax holders for RG8 size which would work on the slightly larger LMR400, I don't know if they still have them. Good luck if you try to find them on the web site. Also, look in the data wiring devices section at Lowe's, or you could use wire ties that have a molded in screw hole.

Panduit would offer some screw down clamps that might be along the lines you are looking for. You would have to find a local distributer or one with its own online ordering.

They have many, many different sizes. I have used Panduit products before but I have not for cable clamps.

UPDATE:

I see Mouser ships Panduit products. I have used them before, they usually are very reasonable even with their shipping.

I would recommend using the Panduit site to find what you want and paste part of the Part number into Mousers search.

How about metal (or plastic) clips for 1/2" metal conduit? You'd fasten them to the wall with screws or nails.

Don't use the tape-backed squares for wire ties - the tape won't hold for long (only hours, if not minutes). Many of those do have holes for fastening them with screws. Just don't pull the ties too tight over the cable.
