Senator John McCain procession

DPS is escorting Senator John McCain's body down I-17. They are using Statewide, 460.225 (100.0 Hz).

All southbound on ramps from New River Rd to Carefree Highway are being closed as of 8:30pm. Expect additional ramps to be closed as the procession makes its way towards downtown Phoenix.

I only heard the dispatcher on Statewide. I think they turned off the repeater function, and only the dispatcher could hear the troopers. She repeated all of their transmissions however, so the procession could be followed through her.

Capitol Detail

Heard just now that the units supporting the "Capitol Detail and Motorcade" are switching to "G-Deck 6" and "Central TAC" which will be bridged.

I don't see these in the AZ DPS frequency listing. I'm assuming Central TAC is State Tactical? No idea what G-Deck 6 refers to...

I did not hear the announcement that rharwood mentions, but the procession is active on DPS Frequency 460.1875 151.4 PL and RWC G6 Talkgroup 1731. They are mentioning a 9:20am departure for Today's procession.


460.1875 151.4 PL might be "Central TAC". This is the first time I have heard this frequency active except for past radio service testing.

RWC Talkgroups G8 2847 and G9 3226 are active with support around the AZ State Capitol for the McCain ceremonies.

RWC Talkgroup H13 1736 (encrypted) is very active with DPS 823xxxx radio IDs. I'm guessing this is also related to the AZ State Capitol ceremonies.

Sounds like Phoenix PD is on G7 running traffic ops for this event. I think they are PHX radio numbers...
