In the RR Database it shows under Mode... Example - DE... Digital Encryted...
Unfortunatly the Mode is not shown in Sentinel's full database...

All, thank you for the information. The last part to my question which you provided the answer to as well was what you can do with ProScan and you mention it can skip the import of encrypted TGID's. Does it skip the lower case encryption as well or just the full encryption's.

Good question... Everything I did was full encryption... Not partial...

ProScan's "Don't Import Encrypted Channels" option only skips over fully encrypted database entries (E), but will import partial encryption entries (e). As it should, since they could be in the clear from time to time.

Wonder if Bob could implement a check box for the partial "e" too... If you may not want them...

That could be a tossup as far as how useful it would be. For example, one county I'm familiar with is tagged as partially encrypted on their Sheriff's Department dispatch channel. In practice, they are almost fully encrypted, except when an unencrypted unit, such as a TX DPS unit, working on I-20 that passes through their county, contacts the S.O. on the primary dispatch channel. For those limited incidents, the conversation is in the clear, but reverts to encrypted once the 'non-encrypted unit' drops off the TGID.

Generally, I go ahead & import the 'part time' encrypted channels, and rely on the scanner to ignore it when encryption is collected.

However, one thing I have noticed on a system in transition in my area, is that a number of encrypted TGIDs come across & play the garbled audio typical of encryption. This is on my 436HP, which I have logging & recording all activity to help document new talkgroups. My SDS scanners ignore them as expected, My 325P2 as well as my HP-2 also do not always ignore these encryption.

OK... I agree with that...

Forgot the scanner will skip the TGID if encrytion is on... Then resume when it's off...
