First let me say, I provide multiple feeds right now on Broadcastify, so I'm not trying to hid audio from the public. I enjoy being an audio feed provider.

I'd like to setup a private direct feed for me to scan a few talk groups of my favorite things to listen to. Does anyone have a way to do this without using Broadcastify? I drive truck and listen to 3 feeds at once now, I'd like to combine a few frequencies and talk groups into one private feed for me to monitor when I'm on the road so I don't have to listen to all 3 feeds at once.

Currently have multiple 996P2s and Motorola XTL radios to do this private feed with using a PC or preferably a Raspberry Pi.

Anyone know of a way?

Ive always used zello to host my private feeds. Just install it to the hosting pc with the scanner feeding the line in. Get the vox dialed in right and you're good to go. That way you can control access plus you don't have to stream audio constantly. It only sends audio when there is audio, so no white noise or constant data use.

There are ways of hosting a stream yourself using darkice and icecast2 all on one raspberry pi. Then, by forwarding a port on your router, you can connect to the stream from anywhere. Only those that you share the ip address with will know anything about it. The streaming part is fairly easy. If you haven’t done port forwarding before, you will find that part challenging.

I think that I would set up a Zello feed if you want a private channel. It is quite easy using a windows computer. Just yesterday I figured out how to do a Zello feed from a raspberry pi. It seems to be working well, going to give it a few days to see if it stays that way. You can also do a zello feed from an android phone. I tried that but had some issues with it dropping out.

Let me know how that pi works out. Been doing some reading on it and it's on my to do list, but I know there's been some trial and error with it. A stable pi setup would be awesome and would definitely save some resources.

Load the emteria android operating system onto your pi (they say a pi3) emteria.com. Then get the Zello APK from their website. I am still using the Evaluation Version. I just plugged in a usb sound card and it worked. Enabled VNC and running it headless.

Not sure if this would fit what your are trying to do, but thought I would I share:

I use Scanner Live & Ice Cast on my home PC to stream multiple feeds to my iPhone via 1 custom URL. I typically have 4-5 feeds running on Scanner Live (with 1 as a priority) and the audio is sent by Ice Cast to my iPhone using Radio Feed. I use 911 Dispatch as the phone app as it allows you to use a custom URL (private stream). With Scanner Live, only 1 feed at a time is heard even though they are running simultaneously. I'm hoping the Radio Reference dashboard that was just announced will have similar functionality.

Radiofeed. software and then add the scanner in the custom scanners section in the Scanner Radio App. When using the pc same thing type the URL into chrome. Very easy to do.

You can use the free or paid version of proscan.org, I set mine up to stream within my lan, I use to stream fm radio, you know blackout, and you can just web to server and play audio. More than one stream change port number.
With proscan you can do left and right speaker or you need mixer.
From wan you can open port or setup vpn to your wan side.

As a side note, unless you have a static IP from your ISP, something like DynDNS makes you able to keep track of your current IP.
