You only have to program the following:
500 MHz Frequencies
Base frequency (505.000)
Spacing (12.5)
Offset Channel (505.000)
DEC Talk Groups (The HEX talkgroups are for Motorola radios only)

The 400 MHz frequencies are not being used.

"See the Ocean County page for conventional frequencies"
The conventional frequencies need to be programmed into a separate system.

If you need any more help, post back and we'll help you.

Apologies for not including Polarity and Upper Frequency. They must be new programming requirements for the 396XT as opposed to the 396T.

What the heck is polarity and upper frequency? What is 509.7375?

I have no idea what they are. I was merely apologizing to OP because I told him he only needed to program the items I mentioned. I just assumed that the basic programming of a Motorola Type 2 System for both the 396T and XT was the same. Maybe h8tdigitalradio will be kind enough to explain what they are and how/where he found them.

Hello,

The XT Uniden Models don't have VHF/UHF Bandplans. You use a "CUSTOM" Bandplan. In the example above:

For sites with a single band plan:

Lower Base Frequency: Base Frequency as provided in the RRDB (505.0000)
Upper Base Frequency: Lower Freq + (759-Offset) *Step Size

505.0000 + [.759-.380=.379] *[ Step Size=12.5]

505.0000 + .379 * 12.5

505.0000 + 4.7375 = 509.7375 MHz is the Upper Frequency

The Polarity Setting would refer to a new way of determining voice channels. /\/\otorola has a few options for Voice Channel mapping and if necessary, a reverse polarity option was included to prepare should a system administrator decide to use it.

If you use FreeScan, the software automatically calculates the Upper Frequency for Single and Multiple Bandplans.

Dave,
1 - If the offset channel shown in the database is 380, where did you come up with 759?
2 - In your calculation, you say to add (base frequency) 505.0000 plus (offset) .379 which would equal 505.0379.
Now, how does (spacing) 12.5 figure into the calculation in order to come up with 4.7375? You have an asterisk(*) next to it. What does that mean?

759 is the highest channel # available on 3600 Baud TRSs. MOT Voice Channels switch to a Channel # not frequency when Trunking and assigning Channel Grants. 509.7375 is Channel 759. 505.0000 is Channel 380.
In your calculation, you say to add (base frequency) 505.0000 plus (offset) .379 which would equal 505.0379.
Add 505.0000 to the answer to [.379 X 12.5 =4.7375] or 379 X .0125
You have an asterisk(*) next to it. What does that mean?
* is the same as multiply or times by.

Well as a Premium Subscriber of RR you could just download FreeScan and use the Import from Radio Reference feature to do most of the programming for you..just edit out any Talkgroups you don't want to listen to.
