Heavy Rains and Winds are expected to affect the area over the next couple of days. Some storm surge is also possible. Flash Flood Watches, Wind Advisories, and Coastal Flood Watches are up for portions of Maryland.

LIGHT RAIN OVERSPREADING THE AREA FROM THE SOUTHEAST THIS
AFTERNOON WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY TONIGHT...BECOMING HEAVY
AT TIMES OVERNIGHT AND THURSDAY AS LOW PRESSURE TRACKS UP THE
EAST COAST. RAINFALL TOTALS OF TWO TO FOUR INCHES ARE
EXPECTED... WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO SIX INCHES POSSIBLE.
Wind's:
A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE QUICKLY NORTHWARD ALONG
THE APPALACHIANS TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE
GUSTY WINDS DURING THE DAY ON THURSDAY ALONG COASTAL LOCATIONS OF
SOUTHERN MARYLAND. SUSTAINED WINDS ALONG THE COAST WILL BE AROUND
20 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS OF 45 TO 50 MPH...ESPECIALLY IN
HEAVIER SHOWERS.
Coastal Flooding:
A STRONG ONSHORE FLOW WILL DEVELOP AS THE LOW PASSES ALONG THE
APPALACHIANS. POSITIVE TIDAL ANOMALIES MAY APPROACH TWO TO THREE
FEET LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY EVENING...WITH A POTENTIAL FOR
MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING NEAR TIMES OF HIGH TIDE.
Spotter Activation:
SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NECESSARY LATE TONIGHT AND THURSDAY.
