Is it possible or does anyone share Favorite Lists for the Toronto Area? I have and SDS100 and BC436HP that I use and I realized after a few months that I can utilize these scanners better if they were more specialized in their programming. I intend to use the BC436HP for 400-500MHz and under, and the SDS100 for 700MHz and up.

I also realized that there is ALOT of "dead wood" in my favourites list that bog down the scanning. For example, I have a lot of encrypted freq's that I should delete which could save me scanning time and get more hits, I could also be more organized.

I have the DMR and NXDN upgrades for the BC436HP = Remtronix 842b and the DMR upgrade for the SDS100 + Remtronix 800B
I like to listen to:

1) All available emergency frequencies (Police {incl OPP}, EMS, Fire and Emergency) I have separate Fav. Lists for these so I can turn them on/off as required
2) Anything Aircraft related
3) Businesses
4) Rail
5) Metrolinx
6) FRS & GMRS
7) Amateur Radio (HAM)
8) Military (Rarely on)
9) Thinking about monitoring storm related frequencies

Any tips on how to organize these more efficiently between the 2 scanners for a more active scanning experience?

I'd suggest starting by making favourite lists for individual trunked systems - make a FleetNet one, make a Toronto one, Peel, Metrolinx. Make other favourite lists for the conventional stuff.

Get handy with Quick Keys and knowing what you want to turn on/off easily. Be able to turn off EMS or Fire using Quick Keys on systems like Toronto - for FleetNet, have a key for different EMS / OPP, etc. Have Quick Keys on sites too - only scan what is within your footprint at the given time (So you can keep scanning without holding on a site and not being able to scan multiple things).

I tend to leave the P25 stuff to my G4 / SDS, since they perform the best on it, and then let the 436 do all the FleetNet / air fun, personally.

Thanks for the input, I will have a look into to sorting as you suggested, also trying to get more familiar with FLQK and SQK, I just never remember what the Quick keys are after I program them, I have created a cheat card to walk around with lol

Actually sharing some of these systems would be useful and of great assistance for a lot on people. A pre configured .hpd for FleetConnect, OnQ, Metrolinx, Toronto FD etc. the files are small and could be done as an attachment or maybe a stickie can be made for such shared files. The big plus for this is that the files would be created by users who already understand setting up the system, base offsets, sites and TG lists and have tested/used them so they are known to work.

I know that someone is going to say what good is a Toronto file here in Windsor but some systems like OnQ etc are almost province wide. I have seperate .hpd with just CB , Marine, Rail. FleetNet is still going to be awhile for the whole province to migrate over so a zone 2-4 file may be of help still.
