My friend's SDR lost Shelby County SO radio last week. I assume that is related to the phase 2 conversion referenced in this post.

Several years ago I built him a windows based SDR single dongle police scanner to listen to Shelby SO and South Shelby Fire Rescue, etc.. I did this by following some very good instructions posted online and have long since forgotten how I did it, LOL.

Can someone point me to the resources/instructions to make his system work with the New Shelby County Phase 2 system. He has two Dongles if needed.

Previously he connected to the tower in Shelby Near Dollar General. Still receiving a signal from that tower/frequency but do not hear any radio communication.

He can still connect to and hear traffic from the Calera Tower which is located just inside the the Chilton County line. I assume that is because they are still on Phase I?

He shouldn't be picking up anything from the old 700mhz frequencies from the Shelby site. He will need to program in the new control channel for the new South Simulcast site (853.9000).

Ok, so we are using SDTrunk, do I just simply change the control channel there or do I need to modify any other settings. It is an older version of SDTrunk so I can upgrade if needed (it was working perfect before so I did not want to risk upgrading it).
Also, I noticed radio reference still has the old control channel frequency listed. Do I need to change talkgroups, blacklist, etc.?

I also noticed noticed the RR database has not been updated. I'm sure someone will update after the North Simulcast is completed. No change in talkgroups. I am unfamiliar with the software you mentioned, so I can not comment on any changes you might need to make.

Before I post a new thread. Is this why I'm getting SCSO on multiple sites? I can here them on Pelham, Helena, Jefferson County Simulcast, and Sterrett/Signal Mountain. Have not heard them on any other sites in the county.
