AURORA - One of the two adults considered a "person of interest" in the disappearance of a 7-year-old girl, apparently died of a heart attack early Friday morning.
Grand jury to hear testimony in case of missing girl
Shely Lowe, 32, was the girlfriend of Aaron Thompson, whose daughter Aarone was reported missing in November.
Aurora Police have been investigating the girl's case as a homicide and Lowe and Thompson's eight other children were placed in foster care some months ago.
Aurora Police Chief Daniel Oates said Thompson placed a 911 call around 4:30 a.m. to say that Lowe was having difficulty breathing. Oates said paramedics responded a short time later, rushed Lowe to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
"We have no reason to suspect that this anything other than a medical death," said Oates.
Police and the Arapahoe County District Attorney announced earlier this month that there will be a grand jury investigation into Aarone Thompson's disappearance.
"I cant imagine that it will change the grand jury investigation at all, but that will be for the DA to decide," said Oates.
