I wasn't sure, what else to title the thread.

If you get a signal on your scanner that between 0-10sec., are they really worth keeping? Because, That is about the time span, I get from airports, TRACON RCAGs, Fire/EMS, and law enforcement.

That's totally dependent on what you think of it. Is it worth it?
Ok. Because, The TRACONS I have are:

ZDC
ZID
ZLT
ZJX

I can get several RCAGs within each TRACON coverage. Along with some, if not most of the airports within a TRACON coverage. While I am closest to KRDU(Raleigh-Durham International). I have been able to occasionally hear tower communications from KCLT(Charlotte-Douglas International), KGSO(Piedmont-Triad Internationnal), KRIC(Richmond International), KPHF(Newport News/Williamsburg International), KORF(Norfolk International), KCHS(Charleston International)and KIAD(Dulles International). A clear signal can always be heard from one of them.

Sure, lots of air comms are just identifier name/number than altitude. 2-3 sec.
Thanks. Because I like to hear anything interesting. Not just my home county. The airports do have a breakdown of which of their frequencies are for which altitude. But I don't bother with the altitude frequencies.
