The PRO-433 manual has a lengthy explanation about the SKYWARN feature, but it does not explain how to activate it. Does anyone know how to do it?

Hey DICK-

If the 433 is anything like the 2051, You press (F) Function, and then the Skywarn button. It automatically sent the scanner to memory channel #1000, where the Skywarn frequency was stored.

Essentially, it was just a shortcut to channel 1000.

433 may be different, I dunno. I just know how the 51' was...

There is not a fixed frequency for SkyWarn. It's normally operated by local HAM's who choose a frequency, typically in the 2-meter band (144-148MHz). You can accomplish the same thing by checking with your local HAM's, and programing their SkyWarn frequency into the channel of your choice. A simple Google search will usually turns these up.

Isn't Skywarn Simplex supposed to be like 146.55 or something? I know there are Skywarn only repeaters out there though...

Here is just a small sampling I found of SkyWarn frequencies in SW Lower Michigan:

As you can see there are several.

Apparently you misread my question. I did not ask about frequencies, I asked how to use the feature - what key presses are needed to go to channel 1000 quickly.
To reply to KG4LJF, thanks, but there is no FUNCTION key on the PRO-433. I believe only GRE scanners use that method of accessing functions. The PRO-433 is a Uniden, Japan, product.
