What has happened to SLC Freq. For the last two days I have not heard any thing.
Have they totaly switch to digital, or is there something wrong with my scanner??

There have been some changes. They are now rotating the Control Channel frequencies so you will have one frequency acting as the Control Channel one day and the next day it will be a voice channel as another frequency takes over the Control Channel duties. You probably have everything in your scanner already but just haven't allowed for the rotating CCs. Oh, yeah, they have also added a couple more frequencies.

I am listening to the SLC Public Safety TRS (AC33) as I type this. Below are the frequencies currently being used by SLC.

855.2375
856.4875
857.2375
857.4875
858.2375
858.9626
859.2625
859.9625
860.2375
860.2625 - CC Rotates
860.4875 - CC Rotates
860.7625 - CC Rotates
860.9625 - CC Rotates

At the present time only the last four frequencies listed are used as Control Channels, and as indicated, they rotate usually every 24 hours like the Airport's TRS does.

You have a very low number of posts for someone who has been a member of this board for as long as you have. Where are you located? What equipment are you using? I would extend a "Welcome" to you except you have been a member for a while. You do need to check back here often because SLC and the Airport are in the process of integrating and things are going to change, and they will be abrupt without warning.

I also urge you to read the rest of the posts on the Utah Forum because this situation has been covered already.

Slc Freq

I have a Pro 95 and yes you are probably right I should have all the info on the scanner.
There is one thing that you said about rotating control channel. NOW.
I don't know how to set up the scanner to rotate if you are familiar with the pro 95 I would like to know how.
I haven't been listing much on the city Freq. I have two son's that are medics and one just transfered to the city so I would like to listen.
I will read other threads so I can get up on the latest.
Thanks

You need to have all the channels(freqs) for the system programed into your scanner, and make sure they are set up for Moto trunk, then you should be good to go. The scanner will sample each freq at start-up and find the one with the control info, and go from there.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with your scanner, but I know there are guys on this board that could help you. Actually, you should be able to find the information in your owner's manual, I think. Are you using the Control Channel Only feature? I believe that if you program all four CCs into the bank you have for the SLC TRS, they will track the daily switch automatically...but then I could be wrong. Another good place to post this question would be the Radio Shack Scanner Forum here in the Radio Reference Forums.

You may end up having to program all the frequencies along with the talk groups on SLC's trunking system. That is the way I have my Uniden scanners set up and they track automatically. I did experience the same thing you are going through about a week ago when they added the rotating CCs because they added some frequencies they had not previously used, so I was deaf for a while. (See the thread I started here about that.)

Today the SLC TRS is using 860.9625 MHz as the CC.

Having a son on the SLC FD is a great reason for wanting to monitor that system.

EDIT:
Looks like gldavis beat me by about a minute with an answer. Lotsa help here. Keep checking back.
