So far, I'm loving my new G5, but after just a few days of quiet listening indoors, the audio hiss when the speaker amplifier activates is driving me insane. Does anyone have a G4/G5 without the hiss? From what I've read it seems like this is just a design flaw that they all have and not a warrantable defect.
Are there any solutions to this for quiet indoor listening?
I've done some searching and reading, and it seems like the amplified charger base is not really a solution because it seems like at its minimum volume it is still very loud, so not really appropriate for a quiet indoor environment. It also seems to have its own audio issues (pops) and isn't worth $140 to me.
Is the only solution to use an external bluetooth speaker and pair it with the G5? Are there any downsides there?
