either im blind or just not paying attention. but I noticed driving around that hydro poles all over the place have a big grey box on the top of the poles with a ant on the bottom the box has a sticker on it that says "hydro one". they seem to place in key locations around the area.Is this for the new smart meter system or is this for the hyrdo one internet. just curious because I cannot find any info online. take a drive around and look up

I believe they're for the devices that have been placed on the lines not the Smartmeters.

The devices seem to be some sort of current measuring device.

Take a look on the lines and you'll see them clamped to the line with a small black antenna.

Lets hope it doesn't cause interference certain radio frequencies.

If it's 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz I guess we're in the clear.

These puppies are all over Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. I was told by the Region that they are for Atria's wifi network.

Don't recognize the first one, although it does appears to be the right setup for a "DAS" - distrubuted Antenna System - it could be WiFi, or cellular... The second one is a Siemens WiFi unit - Toronto Hydro Telecom deployed a whack of them for their WiFi a few years ago...

The first (white, dual antennas) is deployed on the northwest corner of the Albert St. and Seagram Dr. intersection, Waterloo.

The second (grey barrel shape) is deployed on the east side of Caroline St. between Father David Bauer Drive and Erb St., Waterloo.

Many identical devices are deployed in the city core areas throughout the Region of Waterloo.

First one is a Cisco Aironet WiFi access point... Pic was clear enough to zoom into the Cisco logo; but not to see the model... I'm thinking Aironet 1510?

the barrel type are 2.4 gig. The white barrel ones are all over startford. I saw them being installed so I asked :) .
