Question about Pro 96 Scanner

I just bought the Radio Shack Pro 96 Digital Scanenr Yesterday and I programed the CT State Police Freqs on it since they are on a digital system.
My Question is after each transmision on the digital freqs theres a hiss at the end after they end there talk. Is that normal. Like they will talk and there there will be a quick hiss when they are done.
