Spooner, WI PD sideband!

Not sure if this is already known or not but after asking about the laws for scanner use in WI, I was informed that their radio system has been "re-vamped" and is now sideband, but the rest will remain the same as far as he's aware. Will keep my eyes (and ears) on this developing situation.

Washburn County recently turned on their P25....that is probably what they are 'referring' to.....with the right scanner you can pick it up...I listen to it all the time....and I am about 50 miles away....

Spooner PD works on the same freq that they did. Are you referring to narrowband?

Might have been narrowband, he said "You'll need a digital scanner to pick us up either way"

Spooner PD's local channel is all analog, you can hear them. The Sheriff Channel is the only thing that's digital.

When I read the title, the first that popped in my head is a Spooner squad with an FT817 (that's all they can afford) and the cop talking on 40m.
