Hi All:

I just bought a new scanner, a BCT15, and I absolutely love it, but I am experiencing a problem that I have never had with any other scanner, radio or pager I have owned.

I live in Beamsville Ontario and 0n the St. Catharines fire frequency 155.445, I get intermittant noise that I can really only describe as "feedback". I have a friend living nearby that has the same problem on the same frequency. He is also using a BCT15. The only thing I have been able to do is lockout the freq.

Is there something I am missing like a PL etc that might get rid of this annoiance? Its really driving me crazy.

Thanks

Bryan

Hi Bryan, I'm in Fort Erie and I had to lock out 155.445 last night because of the same noise, I don't know what the sound is because I locked it out right away. As far as I know I have never seen a tone come up on this frequency so there is no tone to put in. You could check out the frequencies beside the fire frequency when this noise comes up and see if it's bleed over from a close frequency.

Hello. I live in Caistorville and I dont really listen to the St. Cath freq very often. Too much chatter for my liking. However I find in damp or rainy weather I get the same thing on 155.910, the west end fire freq I guess you would call it. Sometime its so bad to the point of having to lock it out as well.
