I have heard St. Charles County say go to channel 8. I have searched and searched and have found nothing. It may be a low power channel I suppose. Can anyone on here confirm the frequency?

Your answer is in the database. Scroll down to the SD. Count down to channel 8. It's used only in mobiles and portables and is P25. This frequency is also reused as an INPUT to a low power stand-alone repeater which is also P25, but uses a different network access code.
OK, I have all those programed. However I have never heard anything on those frequencies. I guess they are very low power and nothing ever happens near me where they use CH 8.

I don't think you will hear much there at all, except for incidental unit to unit communications throughout the county. That would be very rare, as that kind of chatter would probably go over Nextel instead. Nextel doesn't work everywhere. If you are near St. Charles, you will hear this frequency used more regularly as the input to the low power P25 repeater across from the courthouse.
