As of 330 EST ST.Joe County PD is up and running on SAFE-T and it sounds good on my XT. Dispatch is 16176 and the RR data base seems to be right on as far as the other TGs I will have ID SEARCH on and will see if there is other TGs not listed in RR and report them.

What are the 800 MHz radio frequencies being used by St. Joseph County, to affiliate with the SAFE-T TRS? Also, what is the current control channel that is being utilized?

Yours truly,

Ron

Thank you. Are they still operating off a single-site, or were the other towers on SAFE-T map brought online as a simulcast system?

According to the State provided site map, they are all online.

I am thinking the FCC has stopped accepting new YF STA's and some of the new sites are operating under the WNQU951 Statewide license.

Hello SCOOTER

I have a RS PRO 2055 scanner

I do not know much about trunk tracking but do you think my radio is capable of
receving these transmissions??

You say you have a XT?? Could you describe your radio more??

I may need one soon.

Thank you

The pro 2055 is not capable of picking up most radio traffic on the Safe-T system. I say most because most of the transmissions are digital. Some are still analog (DOT and DOC) but pretty much all police, fire, ems, ema, etc are digital and the 2055 is not capable of receiving and decoding them. You will have to get a digital scanner such as the Pro-96/2096, Pro 106/197, or BC 396/996 scanners.

So is my radio (PRO 2055) good for any of the newer freqs like the AEP or others??

Am getting sorry I bought the thing now.

Was misinformed when I purchased it and was told it was good for the Mish PD.
That turned into a big lie.

Check the database for what you are wanting to program in it...as long as its not digital, you should be ok....I haven't had a 2055, so I am not sure on the specs of the radio (what systems is can and can't pick up (EDACS, LTR, etc)). Looking at the database, it appears all of Mishawaka is digital, and now that St Joe Co Sheriff has swtiched over to Safe-T, you are not going to be able to hear them on the 2055. According to the database, South Bend is still using UHF, so you should be able to monitor them. Check E-bay or something like that if you are looking to buy a new radio...I bought both my Pro-96 & 106 (both of which are digital scanners) from E-bay for very excellent prices and have had great luck with them. If you get a 106, I would STRONGLY recommend computer software to program, it is difficult (though not impossible) to program it by hand. Sorry to ruin it for ya

So far since the switchover I programmed the new freqs and TG's into my 396 and for the most part it comes through just fine, but I noticed every so often the transmissions seem to cut in and out for no apparent reason... come to think of it, Elkhart does the same thing, since I have them both programmed under the same Safe-T system.

the market they say in October.

Hard to believe but they say enter zip code or city and thats all the programming thats needed.

South Bend Fire still uses the UHF system. Police use the new system
