For a 20' run RG-6 should be more then sufficient. I have had no problems with the coax that came with it. Although if you really insist on getting new cable get RG-11, or another 75ohm coax. I have had the scantenna for about 2 years now and I haven't noticed it to be directional although some will argue that it will. For the most part its omnidirectional. Good Luck!

Something I found out with the ST2 through trial and error, is to waterproof the 300/75 transformer that comes with it. I taped the "waterproof" boot up, but water still seeped in through the other side where the wires are molded in, then got trapped in the boot and the cable. A dab of silicone on the new one I had to get fixed that problem, and I went ahead and replaced the OEM cable with quad shield HDTV cable bought at Walmart. I haven't found it to be directional, but it is terrabad at receiving 800 signals. It shines on VHF/UHF in my case.
