I'm currently sitting here in one of Arkansas Great State Parks.. I noticed when I checked in today that in the offices they have brand new Motorola Mobile Radio's and outside sure enough, Directional AWIN antenna's. However, They were just using it for regular in the park communications. If I'm not mistaking I thought the AWIN id's for parks was just to talk to Little Rock. this radio was a motorola and had a red light on it that blinked when it was in use and a green that blinked in standby. It may have been for lowband but they do have their lowband as well as an AWIN antenna outside. I'm going to look this week and see what I can find out but if anyone has any knowledge of this or knows where I may look.. Lemme know please.. Thank You!

Just recently did an install for parks. Still using low band - but had VHF to talk to the locals, AND AWIN.

Wow. Could have fooled me. That nice radio on the desk sure looked too good to be lowband but I guess it was. Noticed a directional AWIN.. What are they using AWIN for or are they using it yet?

The AWIN is for the Interoperablity with other agencies Such as but not limited to: Arkansas State Police, as well as the other VHF/UHF radios along with the lowband they use.
