From DTRS 2301: Troop 1C Dispatch @1258 11-25-06

In a brief conversation to a trooper, a CSP dispatcher relayed that "everything blew up" at 0800 this morning in Denver dispatch reffering to computers and the like. From the brief exchange, I gathered that NCIC, CCIC, and even their CAD systems are still down as of this writing. She even stated their phones were down for a while and that they were "writing everything down on cards" in dispatch.

Obviously, the DTRS is OK because I'm hearing... the DTRS! Good thing their radio comms seem to be a seperated, if not completely independent system within dispatch.

There was a power outage in CBI which in turn knocked out CCIC and our CAD system...not really a big deal since the computers go in and out as it is without a power outage....it was a Statewide outage

Troop-

Just curious:

When you say statewide outage, does that mean that a power/computer failure in Denver would cause the computers in , say, Craig to go down too? Or, is it simply that the statewide DB for CCIC would be unavailable...

Thanks!
