is there and specific reason the the states are titled in the wiki without a space?

ie: Minnesota(US)

but the counties are titled with a space?

ie: Anoka County (MN)

my though being that having that space would make making some of the wiki editing easier so one would be able to save a handful of keystroke and make for some more uniformity in the naming of articles...

I understand that the wiki automatically will migrate [[Anoka County (MN)|]] to [[Anoka County (MN)|Anoka County]], but it would be easier to be able to program in an article reference as [[Minnesota (US)|]] versus how one needs to program it in now - [[Minnesota(US)|Minnesota]]

Its only a couple keystrokes, but it adds up when some one is building articles that reference other states multiple times... (I can think of one user who is assembling Travel Scanning articles...)

and maybe it is too big of a beast to deal with by just moving the pages and using redirects, so if that is the case I will be fine with that...

It comes directly from the naming convention used when the collaboration links were constructed from the database that go to the wiki. Unfortunately there are a few inconsistencies - this is one of them. I had nothing to do with the naming conventions - they just appeared

It could be remedied without moving pages or changing the DB, at least temporarily, by simply creating redirects from the better-formatted names.

You have the ability to move any article to a new name - however, make sure you change all the links to that article, otherwise you're going to end up with broken links. Certainly you could do it with redirects (as ibagli suggests), but, at least to me, moving it now bites the bullet (as it were) and gets it done - you may end up having to move it later anyway.

You could edit the DB, but if there's a lot of counties to be fixed, you really are making a lot of work for yourself.

That's up to you, and see what W9RXR would prefer...73 Mike

Moving a page automatically creates a redirect, so broken links won't be a problem EXCEPT that double redirects (redirects to a redirect) don't work right, so those would need to be changed. They're easy to see using the "what links here" page, though.
