Today, 12 Aug 07, I' ve noticed that `Statewide F3' 154.905 PL 156.7 has been quite active. In fact it seems to be *quite a bit more* active than what I usually hear. (Even SWMBO, who usually is not that much of a `heavy listener' was commenting that the scanner with the State analog `channels' was *a lot more active* than usual!) Is there something awry with the DTRS system today? Or are there just more troopers than usual out and about in the mountains and other dead spots? On top of the apparent increase in traffic it also seems that there are a couple dispatchers who have gotten a bit on the `stircrazy' / `flakey' side or have had someone hit their `funny bone' in `mid-speak'. Something, while it *does* happen occasionally and is not completely unusual, that is also not `normal'. (Yes! I *do* know that dispatchers are actually `human'! I happen to know, and am actually related to one [And in that particular case sometimes makes the `human' part questionable *because* I *do* know her *all too well*. *That is mainly a `familial' thing, though. {WRY GRIN!} Those times I manage to catch her on the air she is completely professional.], several. I have great respect for them and the job they do and this is partially why I am bringing this up and asking.)

Actually at this time, 14:30 or so, it now seems to have gotten a tad bit more like `normal'.

Just an `Olde Fart's' 2¢ worth?

Back to the freeway, which is already in progress...

I heard the same traffic on F3-it was related to Larimer County. At first, I thought it was other radios in the background or skip.I never was sure if it was just the dispatchers or not.

Hmmmmm... Oh, well... Just thought I would ask because when SWMBO starts commenting upon some radio, freq, or TG getting awfully busy it is sort of amazing since she seems to kinda let whatever is happening on the radios just `slide on by' the majority of the time. Yet, whenever something *does* come up she is usually the first one to comment? Maybe it is another example of `motherly filtering'? (IE: How mothers seem to be able to `filter' and `keep track' of multiple conversations between family members?) Any way... When she comments I have learned to listen and have not ever been disappointed. {GRIN!} Even with all the years I have been listening she still makes catches I don't.
