Hopefully one of you can help me out. I haven't seen this discussed before. If it has been, sorry for bringing it back up. What I want to know is, who is the VIP that has the TFR with a 1nm radius in St. Michaels, MD? It started on November 23, 2005 and the ending date is "until futher notice". Who is the VIP?
Here's a link to the NOTAM:

2030: TALON 11, flight of two T-38s, with Philly TRACON 269.25 - perhaps heading to Willow Grove.
One of them should be T-38A, 68-8179 from the 394th CTS.
2039: TALON 11 handed off but I missed the freq...sounded like 322.8 (nothing there though)

Tin, was up at Willow Grove... Talon 11 was a flight of two T-45s from VT-7 at Meridian NAS, they came in around 2045L for the overhead. I believe that your 322.8 was 123.8, PHL App, that was their freq in between 269.25 and 340.2, WG Tower. Also had Navy JT 910 come in around 2230L.

Re: 06-0500

Tin,

I've been waiting for this one for quite some time now - see #2761...

Was also out at LGB for outfitting, testing, etc.

Tony

Early 2000 hour there was a SAM 2841 landed at Andrews w/tower on 118.4. It's a new aircraft for Andrews but I have no other info for it yet. Ron/Tony or anyone else that follows ADW closely, let's pin this guy down. Info I have shows his first flight June 12th in California...delivered here at ADW 6/18 then right back to the left coast on the 30th and now returning to Andrews on a SAM mission.
NOTE: This is a new C-37B assigned to the 99th Airlift Squadron at Andrews

Added: Don't need help...have it all pinned down. :) I'ts tail number 06-0500 c/n 5152 ex N652GA. (Thanks for the help Adrian)

Thanks very much CJ. Is it possible to get the tails on those two T-45s and/or the JT910 which I guess was a C-9B?

Vice President Dick Cheney will make a brief trip to Boston Friday to attend a Fourth of July military reenlistment ceremony aboard the USS Constitution, his press secretary said yesterday.
Cheney plans to attend the ceremony in the Charlestown Navy Yard on Old Ironsides, the world's oldest warship still in commission. His visit will last a matter of hours and could include other activities.
"The vice president looks forward to visiting the USS Constitution and participating in a reenlistment ceremony," said Megan Mitchell, Cheney's press secretary.

Unrelated Racing news..
(As the investigation continues into the tragic accident that took the life of driver Scott Kalitta, NHRA has announced that beginning at the Mopar Mile High Nationals in Denver, Colo., both the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes will race to 1,000 feet instead of the traditional 1,320 feet or one-quarter mile. This is an interim step that is being taken while NHRA continues to analyze and determine whether changes should be made to build upon the sport's long standing safety record, given the inherent risks and ever-present dangers associated with the sport.)

1207: Looks like we might have some Martin State A-10s flying. Just heard transmissions on both 142.3 (Interflight) and 347.2 (RAVEN Ops) but didn't hear a callsign on either. Perhaps they're doing a flyby for the 4th.
Flight of four trying to get into a tight formation which should confirm the flyby thought.
1217: Flight leader pointing out the Mason-Dixon Line to his flight...347.2
1223: From flight leader..."Okay...one more quick turn and then we'll be inbound."...347.2
Still don't know where they are though and whose event they're overflying.
1227: Apparently, post flyby and they report to RAVEN Ops but I was on the phone and missed the transmissions...347.2
1241: RAVEN 5 reports..."left base, gear down, full stop"...MTN Tower...297.2
Appears RAVEN 5 was flying separately from the the other four but part of the mission.
1233: RAVEN 1 to MTN Tower checks in as four A-10s at Hart-Miller for initial..there's a Cessna in their path they want to be kept advised of....297.2
1235: RAVEN 1, 2, 3, 4 all report..."Base, gear, stop"....and down they go....297.2 (Wish I had caught this earlier but just wasn't expecting anything today.)

Here's a picture of the new C-37B at Andrews while it still had its Gulfstream registration...

Tin,

Maybe the A-10s were practicing for this afternoon. The O's are playing the Mariners at 4:35 so maybe they will be doing a flyby before the game?

If it was in the 1000 hour, it was REACH 112T (C-17A, 07-7171, 436th AW Dover)

Re: flybys

Speaking of flybys, etc., the USN and USMC have lists of eligible events on the Web:

USMC:

http://www.usmc.mil/community/Pages/ElibigleEvents.aspx

USN:

http://www.navy.mil/navco/airshows/avs2008.html

The USAF one requires a request on file before information is received. I have not as of yet been able to find one with a list of upcoming eligible events.

Tony

Tony you can check various USAF ACC team show schedules on this USAF link.
Just click on various Team logos.
As for events like baseball games etc I wouldn't know where to check either.

Re: demo teams

Mark,

Like you said, the demo team schedules are accessible but I've not been able to find a public list of USAF flyovers, i.e. patriotic events, DRAGO, etc., etc.

Hopefully someone without a 13-month old boy wrestling Dad to the ground right now will have more luck finding it...)

As for me, I'm outside now. Happy 4th everyone, and to everyone who serves our nation in one way or another, our thanks.

Speaking of air shows, I was just looking at the schedule for the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at Fairford in the UK next weekend. I'm impressed - and envious. I'd sure like to attend that thing. The list of participants is amazing. Check it out at:
http://www.militaryairshows.co.uk/ven3.htm
As someone just said to me in an email..."This is what a real air show looks like." And he's correct.
Note how they also list the scanner frequencies to program during the show.

And the options for seating...
http://www.airtattoo.com/airtattoo/Tickets
And be sure to dress "smart but casual."

KC-10A 79 ARS, 349 AMW.Travis tanker taking those F-22's to RIAT Tuesday?
I see Travis tanker scheduled for display as well they mention KC-10 will bring F-22's across.
Does look like great lineup.I wish the foreign Mil aircraft would visit US more than they do.
No C-5 on display? forget it.. LOL admission 32 pounds or about 60 US bucks? wow!
Guess you have to dress smart for that price.. :)

That's what I was thinking too about the KC-10 - that it would drag the F-22 team across. They say they're due to arrive there between 18-1900 Tuesday which should put them here about o-dark-thirty that morning.

Some of those show packages run up to $600 a day like at the Trenchard Chalet on that price list. Even VIP roads to drive to the show - if you pay the price. I also notice almost all of those high end packages are sold out. Aircraft spotting is just a huge item of interest in the UK and they'll have a couple hundred thousand people show up for this thing.

Thanks for the unit info from the 88-0265 C-17 Mark. For some reason, I had him in my database as belonging to the 58th AS at Altus. He's now moved to McChord. I guess his tanker was too far away from me. No hit on it.

0830: Air Force One (VC-25A, 82-8000) off the deck at Andrews followed two minutes later by SAM 91 (C-32A, 98-0001)
The President is on his way to Japan for the G8 summit. He returns on the 9th.

0959: C-5B, 86-0021, 337th AS Westover departs Dover (Never heard callsign but probably REACH 6021)
1008: EVAC 55142 (C-17A, 05-5142, 729th AS March) on the way out of Andrews it appears
1016: Have what sounds like a ROYAL ??, a Dover C-17, saying he's returning to Dover because of engine #1 overheating...15 minutes out, needs parking...349.4 (Very weak from here today and not even sure of the ROYAL callsign yet)
1025: Same aircraft with Dover A/D on 132.425 but I can't copy him.
1025: Also have an Evergreen flight heading to Dover (Flight EIA 1111, B742, registration N486EV) He's arriving from Frankfurt Hahn, Germany (EDFH)

1108: JESSE 93 (C-130H, 86-1393, 180th As MO-ANG) departs Andrews - late. This is the aircraft that was EVAC 61393 earlier in the week that kept giving his numbers as 63193.
