0600 have what sounds like GOLD-41,42 northbound A/A 293.000 and some coms on Ctr 363.000
after coms on ZDC Norfolk 327.800 KC-135 #60-0342 from Grand Forks did show at the same time at FL27k.

They supported TREND 91 flight from Shaw AFB to Moron. These were 77FS F-16s enroute to the Gulf.

Hope this helps,

René.

New ADW Freq????

Guys,

Just now (1735 EDT) Pacer 78 was approaching ADW. He asked the Potomac controller (128.35), " is Andrews tower using the published frequency or are they using the new frequency now?"

Anyone aware of an upcoming ADW tower freq change?

Answered my own question--found this:

TWR LOCAL CONTROL VHF FREQUENCY (118.4) OTS. ALTERNATE FREQUENCY
IN USE (125.35. 10 MAR 18:51 2009 UNTIL 17 MAR 23:59 2009. CREATED: 10 MAR 18:53

A couple of years ago Andrews used 125.35 as a "secondary" tower freq for a couple of days and then used it for the Air Boss for the show. Right after the show, they went back to 118.4. I've had 125.35 in my rotation ever since then and have heard it exactly once over that period.

Both Navy Ops/PTD freqs at Andrews are being deleted....139.3 and 362.9 are gone. There were no replacement freqs given in the item. It sounds like they're just doing away with them....unless they add new freqs at some point in the future. (They've been known to post only half a freq change in the past although this one sounds final.)

And for our New England contributors...
Several airports in Connecticut, Rhode Island and western Massachusetts that use UHF freq 385.6 for Approach/Departure have been changed to 244.875 (including RI-ANG at Quonset) -- and others that use 380.25 have been replaced with 269.525.

And, Jordan, this one is for you...
Travis AFB deletes ATIS freq 384.5 and replaces it with 292.125.

2026: TROOPER 2 calls Andrews Tower on 118.4...gets no reply, apparently remembers the new freq and calls on 125.35.

For Andrews: AIR TERMINAL RAMP FREEZE. 11 MAR 03:45 2009 UNTIL 11 MAR 04:15 2009.

And at Davison AAF: UHF ATIS 230.0 OTS. 03 MAR 12:43 2009 UNTIL 30 MAR 12:00 2009. (Hell, I didn't even know DAA had an active ATIS of its own.)

Tin,

Thanks for that tip. Looks like ADW is really going for the consolidated CP concept--albeit in ADW's case it might be a moot point since they have so much trouble communicating on 378.1 & sometimes on 141.55.

If that is the case I guess we can look for Liberator and 351.2 to go away soon as well.

Either that or the Air Force is simply claiming dominance and saying, "This is an Air Force Base and if you come here you'll use Air Force freqs." You understand the interservice rivalries. On the other hand, someone might have just finally figured out it was redundant to have two sets of Ops freqs at Andrews and has determined one set of controllers is enough for this function.

Guys,

this was posted on another list:

A couple of hours ago, there were clear voice comms from Customs & Border PAtrol (CBP) units on 164.775.
"Mike 77" contacted "Charlie 100" and reported 10-7 at CG Station Canaveral.

AL STERN Satellite Beach FL

Same callsign that is used around here by the Customs Sector at Baltimore.
