Still Hear Static Even When All Systems Are Disabled - BCD396T

Many times, I hear static even after disabling all the sytems (Scan Mode - Nothing to Scan) on my BCD396T. It is contant static. I checked the squelch and even turned it all the way 15 and it still persists.

This does not happen all the time. It does not seem to be an interference problem, because it happens when I am at home, in the car, and out and about.

What could be causing this?

Static Question...

It sounds like you have a transformer in your neighborhood going bad. Might try to see if there any close to your house that "hum". Probably worse in the daytime, but could be happening almost anytime too. Do you hear the same noise if you turn on your AM radio? Try that too. Steve/KB8FAR

No, this happens no matter where I am, even miles from my home. There is no noise/interference on an AM radio either. There is no ryme or reason as to when it happens, just that it happens when I disable all systems.

Happens with mine also regardless of locale. Started after the most recent firmware update or the one previous.
