today at 2130 I was listening to 11.175 and a strong AM signal 5-9+40 popped up covering it up. It was centered on 11.180. At first it was a carrier only then I heard snippets of the cuban numbers station, a spanish speaking radio station, and a french speaking radio station. This lasted about 2 minutes then went dead. I'm just wondering if anyone else ever heard anything here or any ideas what it was.

I wish I had caught that myself today. I have not heard the Cuban or French radio stations on this frequency but I have heard a carrier before and also I have heard what sounded like a week broadcast station right about that frequency. I can't say with 100% certainty it was 11.180 but I think it was. It's been a while, probably at least one year ago and maybe two, since I heard the week AM broadcast station. Thanks for posting this. I'm going to keep an ear out for it. It's interesting that it started off as a number station too!

very interesting. It wouldn't surprise me if it was originating from Cuba since the signal was so strong. The numbers was just the "attencion" then a 5 number group and then it went into the broadcast stations a couple minutes.

I have not heard a Cuban Numbers station close to 11180 - or a Cuban SWBC Station (RHC has been known to have a 'hick up' and Send Numbers before)

I guess keep watch and see!
