Today I have been hearing what sounds to me like Sweet Home Police operating on TGID 22711 on SW7. I have occasionally heard SHPD units hop on LCSO's dispatch on calls but never on their own channel. Are they going to move onto the system now or is this just a temporary thing?

Did you only start hearing them yesterday ? If you can listen on there VHF channel, to see if they are simulcast, that would be good to know as well.

I heard a few brief tests on that talkgroup prior but yesterday was the first day I really heard a good amount of traffic on it. My reception on their VHF channel is terrible and thats why I wasnt so sure at first if it was even them at first. But after listening for a bit I heard them refer to their dispatch as "Station 2" and whenever they didn't abbreviate their own callsigns they would be in the 200s.

I can try and find a better spot to compare but it would be tricky to time it because the transmissions on that talkgroup were pretty spaced out.

No problem, i was just wondering, if they were simulcasting with there Vhf repeater. The TRS is open to any dept, who has the funds to join.

as another thing, I'm sure I haven't been hearing all of their transmissions because I use the Benton County site and I really doubt they're even able to use it from there so my best guess is they're on the Scott Mtn site and whenever I hear it on Benton County its probably because LCSO is listening in or something.

Sweet Home PDis just on VHF, I am guessing when one of the trunking users wants to listen that the patch becomes active, have heard Lebanon PD on a patch also. Most of the radio traffic east of the narrows on highway 20 is on vhf, for county and state with analog being the primary mode.

I ran a comparison to their VHF when the talkgroup was active. While its hard to hear what they're saying on VHF with my reception I can at least tell its someone talking and neither the VHF freq or the talkgroup were active at the same time, and the talkgroup did not sound as distorted as patches usually sound. Each user also had its own Unit ID that was consistent to the ones I've seen them use when talking to LCSO. But since the last time I've commented on this thread I have not heard any activity on the talkgroup and it seems they're back to the VHF like usual.

My understanding is SHPD is testing and getting ready to switch to 700 Mhz system. But, if they switch to 700 Mhz system, the Vhf repeater will likely still be used.

Just as an update to this, I have heard some brief SHPD traffic on the same TGID but not as much as the day I started the thread. However I have been seeing some radio affiliation with IDs from SHPD and Lebanon PD radios on various TGIDs, mainly the primary LCSO talkgroup but also some random ones in the 227xx range.

I caught this moment where an ID I've heard used by an LPD officer was seemingly scrolling through a bunch of talkgroups.

Anyone know what the 227xx talkgroups are? I know 22701 is "Interop 7" and 22711 was the one being used for random SHPD dispatching, but the rest I have no idea and have never heard activity on.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention, last month I heard a Lebanon PD sergeant say something along the lines of "we should probably go digital soon" after an incident where a suspect they were searching for was tipped off via scanner and eluded them.
