A large tanker carrying oilfield brine failed to negotiate a curve on FM 3053 just west of TX 1788 in far southwest Midland County early Sunday.
Dispatchers from Midland and Odessa both received the call, and Odessa Dispatch auto-launched the CareStar helicopter.
Odessa's Batallion Chief was first on scene and immediately cancelled the helicopter. Not because the guy was seriouslly hurt: he was! It was because the driver was just too big to fit into the helicopter! He was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in serious condition!
