telescoping thread vs telescoping BNC

Hi

On the Radio Shack 2053 there is a telescoping thread antenna as well as a BNC antenna input. Will a telescoping right angled BNC antenna perform better than the threaded antenna?

Given that the general dimension are the same then no, it's all going to the same place in the radio so it doesn't matter.
