Tempe PD

I'm considering purchasing a PSR600 to monitor the Tempe PD. Some of their departments are encrypted and some aren't. Does the scanner know not to stop on an encrypted transmission or do you hear a lot of "garbage" until it moves on to an unencrypted transmission?

Nope - but if you lock out the encrypted talk groups or just omit entering them in the TGRP objects, you'll be good to go.

Thank-you very much. I thought they were all in the same talk group but if not it shouldn't be a problem. I was worried about having to listen to a bunch of garbage in order to hear what I still could from the Tempe PD. Next step is to get a digital scanner as the last time I listened to them they weren't digital.

Do yourself a big favor - download Win 500 (or another software product) to program it, it makes life muck simpler.

Finally got my radio. Looks like it's going to be very interesting. Do I need to program Simulcast C or Simulcast F or both sets of frequencies?

Tempe comes off of simulcast F. Simulcast C is an IR site, right now it's there to provide radio coverage to units that may be out of range of primary simulcast sites.

Successfully receiving the unencrypted Tempe PD transmissions. The PSR-600 wasn't hard to program from the front panel. Thanks for all the help!

What are the zeroes at the end of the talk group number? (ex: 2602 0) When I programmed the talk groups for Scottsdale, there were no zeroes at the end, but rather my scanner put them in front.

It's the Hit-Counter, I scraped it from Win500 and the specific file I opened up didn't have hits enabled.
