They used to use the outdated EDACS Provoice and I could receive their encrypted audio on my Uniden SDS200.
But according to Radio Reference I will no longer be able to receive their audio as it is using a different means of encryption.
Is there a possibility that Uniden will work it out?

The short answer is no. It's illegal to decode & monitor encrypted transmissions.

Technically speaking, ProVoice is not encryption. It's a different type of digital signal that scanners could not decode. Uniden released the ProVoice upgrade, which can receive that signal type, but again, that was not truly encrypted. Agencies using that ProVoice mode treated it as an encrypted signal, but it never was actually encrypted. Until Uniden came up with the ProVoice upgrade, scanners could not receive ProVoice, though certain programs used with SDR's, such as DSD or DSDPlus could receive that mode. More in the Wiki.

The new system is a Phase II P25 system with true encryption. Not the whole system, but the majority of LE is encrypted or partially. The only way to monitor encryption is to have permission from the agency. The only non-public safety that gets that access is the media. And they are limited to what channels the encrypted agencies want them to have. Pretty much out of luck as a hobbyist.

Yeah, BCSO is all over the place. Some units clear others not. A few small towns are clear. A couple other agencies and school district PDs and a few universities are clear as well. Of course public works, convention center, alamodome are all clear.
