Greetings,

Just curious to see if anybody had any extended EDACS control channel recordings they could provide for the following:

Assuming of course, that these systems are still active to some degree.

I'm currently in the middle of testing some software I'm developing, and would really like to acquire some extended control channel audio to parse through the software to test its capability. So far, its working great with SLERS in Florida, but I'd still like to know how well it'll function with other operational EDACS systems.

If anybody would like to help contribute, I would take anything you could throw at me to be honest, but preferably a good high quality multi minute sound sample in a lossless or mostly lossless format such as wav/flac/ogg or even mp3 might be okay as long as its not too compressed, and let me know what system its from. Also, try to submit samples when the system has activity so I can read any possible talkgroups and radios and so on. Dead air control channels don't do too much for me, but still would be better than nothing at all if the system doesn't stay particularly busy.

Thanks. That has definitely given me something to work on. The commands are all different than what I'm used to seeing, still trying to piece it together. Do you know if there were any active voice calls going on during this recording?

Sounds great.

That site is extremely busy. There should have been tons of voice calls.

It's not an EA EDACS System, but it is a networked ESK system with lots of ProVoice and some Analog.

Indeed there was some voice activity, had a few switched flipped the wrong way. My drowsiness got the better of me. Still have a few things to iron out though, but that sample was pretty invaluable to me so far.

Here is this site:

Just a quick follow up on that one, what frequency was the CC sitting on when you recorded it, trying to determine where in the stream the Control LCN value is set for non EA modes. Also, when monitoring this, do all the LCN channels get used in succession for voice channels? or does it tend to stick with just a few?

Also, now that I've got it going, I'm seeing a lot of group 4-2-1, so I'm assuming that would be

04-021 is the most active talkgroup on the system. It is locution dispatch for all fire and EMS calls in the city. All the SA/Bexar EDACS sites rotate LCNs in succession.

2 minutes and 30 seconds in WAV format.

Oh, I was wanting to ask you, what method/software did you use to make your recording? Yours worked just fine for me, but somebody else sent me some wav recordings from SDR# but they were in 32bit float with 39062 Hz sampling rate, and I've been having issues getting those to convert and work properly as a 16-bit 48000 Hz sample. I can do the conversion in Audacity, but I think it affects the speed or something and my software just doesn't like it.

They also sent me a baseband .wav file from SDR# that I can play for about 30 seconds in SDR++ before it tanks entirely, and trying to play it back in SDR# in wine just plays for a few seconds before the software crashes.

I used a Winradio G39DDC and just used the built in recorder function with a bandwidth of 20 khz I believe.

I'd like to thank you again for getting that wav file for me. I did want to ask you though, is there a site on that same system that isn't as busy? Or if it would be possible to get a second recording at a not so busy time of day? The only reason I'm asking is because that recording was when the site was so busy, it was rolling through LCN channels at a super rapid rate. I have no idea how anybody could listen to more than one group at a time on that site at that rate. Anyways, I still need to iron out a few AFS related things mainly, didn't know if a slower time of day or slower site would be available on the same Networked ESK system.
