Have recently seen this talkgroup active on MSCommNet. TG 751. Has 400 unit IDs. Makes me wonder if its Troop I (Covers I95 from Houlton to Augusta)

I've heard that TG active on the Bangor area networks--I'll have to listen some more.
I'm hearing that TG on both the Bangor and the Bald Mountain/Dedham sites. I'm not hearing that TG on the Mt Ephram (Searsport) site where I usually hear Augusta North.

While Listening today I find TG751 is fairly active. I agree with this being interstate related and I occasionally hear units talking to Bangor.
I am using only Granite Hill tower for listening to MSCommnNet. I am in Pittston , so I'm wondering what other tower sites I should add to hear more of this talk group? Thanks

I first heard TG 751 in the Northern Field Troop (Zone 3) during the recent special training exercises in Portland, Winthrop, and Northern Penobscot County.

Since those exercises have ended, TG751 has been used by 400s, and 800s units covering Interstate 95 and I-295 from Portland to Houlton. The other day, I heard a 400 unit talking with Bangor dispatch to reassign patrol slots on southern I-295.

I hear them on the Passadumkeag site.

Judging by all the information we've gathered I'm gonna assume its Troop I units. Which also I believe 400s are assigned to troop I and i know 800s is CVE.

From an MSP Facebook post in January 2023:

Maine State Police introduce Troop I

As of January of 2023, the Maine State Police created a new troop dedicated solely to patrolling Maine’s highways other than the Maine Turnpike which is patrolled by Troop G. The newly created Troop I patrols all of I-295 from Scarborough to West Gardiner, a short portion of I-495 (the Falmouth Spur), I-95 from Augusta to Sherman and all of I-395 from Bangor to Brewer. The Troop is headquartered in Augusta but has Troopers spread throughout the state who work in their respective patrols.

Troopers in Troop I focus heavily on traffic enforcement in addition to responding to crashes, traffic complaints, aiding motorists, as well as assisting other Troops and local law enforcement agencies.

Troop I has Troopers assigned to just about every specialty the State Police has to offer. This includes but is not limited to the Tactical Team, the Crisis Negotiation Team, the Bomb Team, the Dive Team, and the K9 Unit.

Troop I is unique with it’s large geographic area where you could live almost anywhere in the state and still work in the troop. Troop I is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in highway policing. Please reach out at 207-877-8028 to begin your process today or click here to get more information:

According to the MSP PIO, Troop I covers all of I-295 and I-95 from Augusta to Sherman. They are headquartered at a state-of-the-art modular facility in Pittsfield.

No, nothing has changed. I've been sporadically getting it on City Center.

In my location, Active on

Whitten Hill(Bowdoin) site

but not

Huntoon Hill(Wiscasset) or

Spruce Mountain(Woodstock)

Which makes some sense considering the roads they cover
pretty busy over last weekend
