Do you have a close call option on your scanner ?

Port jeff ferry

Port Jeff ferry on Long Island side using : 154.5100 on low power Motorola ht1250's. You need to be in the area to monitor

154.510 is not a valid frequency. 154.4975, 154.515, 154.5225 are the valid frequencies in that range.

154.515 MHz is used on the dock in Port Jefferson and on the ferry's. The dock personnel on land in Bridgeport use 154.545 MHz to coordinate parking and mostly stay off of 154.515 MHz to avoid interfering with the ferry comms while the boats are docking.

You need to be withing a few blocks of the ferry terminals to hear them. There is not a lot of radio traffic on 154.515 MHz while underway.

They use a DPL tone. I don't know what it is.

Thanks Inno, I'm having to travel on the ferry for the next year weekly so I'll do some listening and see whats the deal.
