Thoughts on this antenna?

Everyone,

I've had this thing which I believe to be an antenna. I'm hoping those of you that have the in-depth knowledge of antennas can help me figure it out. Here are the dimensions, 17 1/2 inches in length, 3 inches in diameter. It is wound with what appears to be copper wire. I've attached a picture below. There is a strand in that is accessible in both the top and the bottom of the tube. It appears that the wire is wrapped over the top of the wire wrappings.

It looks like the secondary coil to either a kit or homemade Tesla Coil.

That would not be useful for any antenna I can think of and probably part of a Telsa coil as mentioned.
