    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

TK-360G discriminator audio

Hello group.

I have a TK-360G, and I'm interested in using it for an application that requires discriminator audio. It'd also be great if I could find a point in the circuitry where I could get a hi or low when the unit is receiving a properly encoded QT signal. COS or RUS as it's known in repeater circles.

I know this is going to be a challenge due to the level of integration, but if someone with knowledge of these things could offer any adivse, I'd appreciate it.

Possibilities?

Looking at the schematic, I see there's RXLED output on the micrprocessor.. Lights up the LED on top of the unit when a received signal is present. Sounds like that might work for a COS/RUS signal.

Also, I see a line labled DEO coming out of the audio section I think may be discriminator audio.

Can anyone with Kenwood service experience comment on DEO?
