Towson University

TSU on FIRST...Is the Towson ASR the only system that the university is linked to on FIRST? They are not being heard on Balt simulcast. At least not by me. Although I receive that system fine.
I guess I am too far away to receive the university's P25 system, but cannot receive the ASR ALSO.

Towson University is a Limited Primary Partner on the FIRST system. I believe that the university’s talk groups are only heard on the Towson ASR. That said, there may be a few subscribers that have been configured to operate on them off other sites. Additionally, all the university’s radios can operate on the interop talk groups where needed.

I have dispatch locked out but they were routinely in the past seen on the Baltimore Site. Towson PD Tac 2 was actuallly active a few days ago on the Baltimore Cell.

In the past, unless it has changed, police primarily used First.

Ok. I haven't heard any of their TG's on Baltimore FIRST simulcast all day. I do get a good signal from that system here in HOCO.
I'll keep listening.

Only the Towson University PD are on FIRST as the system is *supposed* to be for public safety users only. Other university departments use other resources. From what I remember, there was not much traffic outside of Towson, but perhaps some random traffic was dragged to the Baltimore site. One or two UIDs would show up on the AA Site from time to time, but they primarily operate on the Towson ASR.

No, only if a TSU PD unit happens to affiliate with the site. Most of the time, they do not.
