Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey guys!
Long time lurker, not first-time-poster.

I've FINALLY decided to upgrade my NX-200 to an NX-5200K3. (One reason, needing a DTMF keypad.) Radio arrives tomorrow, and I'm going to need to program it.

I have a saved data file from my KPG-111 programming software - but I do NOT HAVE the software any more (laptops switched out long since the last time I've needed to program my radio) - is there a way to import that saved file into 1DN?

Thanks all!

Rambling to add, somewhat un-related, I loved my NX-220. I had that thing for a good 15 years, it feels like. Working on railroads, it held up to freakin' everything I tossed at it. And it still works. Due to network changes, and the newer addition of DTMF-controlled operations, I had to upgrade. The durability tho, that's one of the reasons I stuck with Kenwood, honestly. :D

SO, YOU USE 111 TO EXPORT (*.ITM) TO PULL OUT THE 111 FILES FOR IMPORT TO D1.

I do this all the time to save programming.
Do you need 111 again?

Damn, if that's the only way, then yes. I believe I still have my license code for it - don't know if it'll work on the latest version (the latest verion I had has to be ~10 years old). - Hopefully, that will still work.

Edit to add: I'm NOT asking for pirate anything. If my license key doesn't work, I don't think it's worth the price, when I CAN go through all my documents and pull out the channels again. Just would hope there's another way. :D

Appreciate it!
Radio (should) arrive tomorrow, will give it a shot. I may have a couple questions programming it (DTMF tones, for example), since I'm really more of a end user than a programmer. Heh.

Thanks again, guys.

UPS dropped off a couple days late, but was able to import the channels. A user here got me in install for the 111, and my license key from v3 worked on it. Some of my zones imported as NXDN Conventional when they should have been Analog, but luckily those were easy to enter in manually.

I may have a license issue/misunderstanding/question about the BT and SD card licenses, but I'll address those later.

One question I do have on the KPG-1D, if anyone knows -
Is there a way to re-order zones? (Change Zone 1 to Zone 3, move 2 to 1, 3 to 2, etc..) Not a huge loss if not, but thought I'd check. :D

what is your question on the SD and BTSPP?

If it was in NXDN but Analog before transfer, then it carries over. Not a back breacker. It's still analog in the zone (just have to go through and rename everything.

Copy and past the zones around (copy to last the zones you want to move, then past back into order)
basically your duplicating to the end of the zones, then past where you want it to originally want it to go.
(you can use INSERT ALSO, then paste) Then delete the errant zone.

Enjoy!

I asked my distributor if there was an "extra charge for the SD Card/GPS".
I must not have been clear, as the hardware was installed - GPS works (can't test BT at the moment) - but when I select the options in the 'Product Information', and then later try to write, I get an error.

I can apparently save GPS to the internal memory. As well as record transmissions; so the module's installed and operational. I thought that the hardware included the KWD-5002SD license.

GPS and BT are settings in D1, BT alone is in the radios, set up a menu or softkey to turn it on. THIS is not the same as BTSPP!
SD Card, is an option, 32MB max, card goes in the side rubber flap of the radio. records audio, and / or GPS based on settings in options feature 2.

My radio has the hardware, and in D1 I can select to save GPS/Audio to the internal memory - but NOT the SD card. If I select the option to save to the SD card, when writing I get an error that states (summarized) the radio isn't licensed for it.

Phoned and email my dealer, and have gotten silence back, since they stated in an email that 'it's included', though not on my invoice. Because they ghosted me, I'm not going to deal with them anymore.

I am going to need to find someone that can sell me a KWD-5002SD license now, apparently. :(

I have the keys. email me kd4efm1@gmail.com
Did you register your License manager or you need that license also? (must have to push radio license to the radios)
