I am going to be flying out of RDU in May. Asking now so I can go ahead and program it in and don't have to rush to do it. I will be taking my Pro-96 with me. I know I will program the VIPER system in but I was wondering which sites I should program in along with which talkgroups. I am interested in public safety (police, fire, ems in that order.) I am coming from Virginia down 85 then we are going to cut onto Rt. 1 and then 540 to the airport. Wondering what other agencies and frequencies I should program in for this. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Try this:

Here's my P96 files for the triangle area.
It should get most of what you need for around here.

Thanks for the file. If you ever travel towards the Richmond, VA area send me a PM and I will give you my P96 file for the area.

Just got back from my trip. A lot of interesting things to listen to the whole time. I had the P96 file that Dave posted on here plus I had a second P96 file for southern VA and northern NC. Coming back I listened and watched a Henderson Police Officer take a guy into cusody on the side of Rt. 1. The thing I found intersting in the Raleigh area is that the EMS calls are dispatched by a computer. First and so far the only time I've heard that done.

It's called "Locution CADVoice" and the website for the company that provides the technology can be found here:
http://www.locution.com/products/cadvoice_flagship.htm
Several other Large cities in the US are also using Locution...if you do a keyword search here in the NC forum for "Locution" you will find other posts about this same topic...it helps speed up dispatches and increases productivity as dispatchers can be freed up for other radio channels and leave the dispatching to the computer...
It does take some getting used to though

Yeah I was thinking the same thing that it would speed up things and free up dispatchers.
