Triple Trunking

What does it mean when it says triple trunking? Probably a dumb question and probably answered a million times however I couldn't find an answer when searching.

It means it Trunks Motorola, LTR and GE/Ericsson (EDACS) systems.

MOTO, EDACS, and LTR can be used and are used for Public Safety but they can also be used by schools, taxis, businesses, service depts., etc.

interesting experience re: triple trunking

A few weeks ago I went to a local R.S. store to purchase both a PRO-97 & PRO-2055. While I was discussing my purchase with a very knowledgable asociate.While explaining that my county was converting to 2 trunked systems,1-VHF HI and 1-UHF. her cluseless associate chimed in and said that I would need a dual band trunker ,not a triple trunker. DUH!!!

The Pro97 has been discontinued as it can't be rebanded. The Pro164 can,just a side note
